GTL International LLC and their subsidaries (together, “GTL”) provide multi-discipline engineering and technical advisory services across geotechnical, structural, civil, marine and energy engineering, on projects in more than fourteen countries. The health, safety and wellbeing of our people, our clients, our contractors and the communities in which we work is fundamental to how GTL operates, and is never compromised for programme or commercial pressure.

This policy applies to all GTL directors, employees, contractors, subcontractors and visitors, at every office and project site in every jurisdiction in which GTL operates.

Our Commitments

GTL is committed to:

• Providing and maintaining safe and healthy working conditions across all offices, sites and project locations.
• Complying, as a minimum, with Indonesian Law No. 1 of 1970 on Occupational Safety and its implementing Permenaker regulations, and with the applicable health and safety legislation of every other jurisdiction in which GTL operates.
• Working towards conformance with ISO 45001:2018, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
• Identifying, assessing and controlling the health and safety hazards and risks arising from our geotechnical, structural, civil, marine and energy engineering work, before they cause harm.
• Providing employees and contractors with the information, training, supervision and personal protective equipment needed to work safely.
• Consulting and engaging openly with employees, and worker representatives where relevant, on matters affecting their health and safety.
• Investigating all incidents and near misses thoroughly, and acting on the findings to prevent recurrence.
• Extending these same standards to the subcontractors and third parties engaged on GTL projects.
• Setting measurable health and safety objectives and reviewing performance against them regularly, with a commitment to continual improvement.
• Allocating the resources, time and authority needed to implement this policy effectively.

Wellbeing

GTL recognises that engineering and advisory work, often carried out across multiple countries and demanding project schedules, can place real pressure on our people. We are committed to supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of our workforce, including reasonable working hours, access to support when needed, and a culture in which raising a concern, whether about safety or wellbeing, is welcomed rather than discouraged.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Technical Director. Project and site managers are responsible for implementing it on their projects. Every person working for or with GTL is responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others affected by their work, and for stopping any activity they believe to be unsafe.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least annually, and sooner following any significant incident, change in legislation, or change in the nature of GTL’s operations.
