GTL International LLC and its subsidiaries (together, “GTL”) provide multi-discipline engineering and technical advisory services across geotechnical, structural, civil, marine and energy engineering. This Code of Practice sets out the professional and technical standards every GTL engineer and adviser is expected to apply, whatever the discipline, client or jurisdiction.

Our Commitments

GTL is committed to:

• Applying recognised codes, standards and contract frameworks, including relevant SNI, British and international standards, and FIDIC forms of contract, to every engagement.
• Assigning work only to personnel with competence, qualifications and experience appropriate to the task, under suitable chartered-level supervision.
• Exercising independent professional judgement, and never allowing commercial or client pressure to compromise technical integrity or public safety.
• Applying independent checking to all calculations, designs, drawings and technical reports before they are issued.
• Upholding the professional codes of conduct and continuing professional development requirements of the institutions we hold membership of, including the Institution of Civil Engineers.
• Keeping clear, accurate and retrievable records of the technical basis for our advice.
• Requiring every engineer and technical adviser to raise concerns about unsafe or non-compliant practice, without fear of reprisal, through the appropriate channel.
• Setting out clearly to clients the basis, assumptions and limitations of our advice, and updating it where circumstances change.

Responsibilities and Review

Overall responsibility for this Code rests with the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Technical Director. Every engineer, technical adviser and consultant acting for GTL is expected to uphold it, alongside GTL’s Quality Policy and Ethical Conduct Policy. This Code is reviewed at least annually.
